Valtheran, you see the young woman with dark skin and white hair and recognize her to be a drow, and a very short one at that. She's the same height as Kendal. Arianrhod grabs her bag and stands, wiping the blood from her nose. "I'll have a bruise for a few days, but I'll be fine. It's about noon, so we should set out."

[I won't be able to rp just yet; gotta cook dinner. Will try to jump on later.]

Kendal follows Arianrhod. "I was wondering if Andromaeda here could travel with us for a while. She asked me earlier but I wasn't sure what you thought."

"Well, someone seems to have gotten over Rhianwen quickly enough."

"Valtheran be nice." She turned to Kendal. "I see no reason why not." She turned back to Valtheran. "And no I'm not just letting anyone on the party. There was a reason I made Rhianwen share my room, and" she turned to Andromaeda, "no offense but I will be keeping an eye on you."
Andromaeda shrugged. "Eh, could be worse. You could be hammering in my face right now."

Kendal adjusts his pack. "Alright. Then lets get going. And Valtheran, I suggest you hear the story first BEFORE you start cracking those rather insulting jokes."

Arianrhod sighs. "Kendal be nice. Valtheran's bandits are still on the loose, he has right to be paranoid." She held out a canteen. "This, by the way, is a canteen of endless water. No more getting dehydrated, and we can afford to stick a little closer to the road."
"Are there any villages along the way?" Andromaeda asked.
"Two, three tops. Not sure if we'll hit all of them, or if we'll stay. I'm interested in getting to Esmeltarn as soon as possible. Those damn mages aren't going to wait forever."
"Mages?"
"I'll explain later...oy my head hurts."

Kendal walks along silently behind Arianrhod.

Valtheran walks behind Kendal, lost in thought.

After a few hours of walking in silence, Arianrhod begins to whistle, then sing. It's a song in a language none of you know, but it's cheerful and plesant. After she's done, she sighs. "I was taught that song by one of the Knights of my faith. Imnris. She's a white dragon that holds control of Chult now. She said it was an old song often sung by the Knights when moral was low."
Andromaeda nodded. "It's very nice."

"Chult?"

"Indeed it is..." Kendal is currently putting a lot of thought with the events of the day.

"Chult is an island to the southwest. It was once under Arkhosian rule, but when the empire fell Imnris took over to make sure it remained a shelter for people. I'd like to go there again some day; it's so beautiful."

Kendal, deep in thought, pulls out the pendant and examines it, wondering what it all meant.

Arianrhod slows her pace until she's side-by-side with Kendal. "Whatcha thinkin' about?"

Valtheran looks at the dagger Rena gave him, currently sheathed at his side. He's wondering why she showed up here.. and if there's something she isn't telling him.

Kendal looks up at Arianrhod. "I'm just trying to figure out what it all means. First I meet you while traveling around. several days later, while in the city, the King gets killed. A couple of days after that, on the day that we leave, I find a set of leather armor that seemed to attune itself to me immediately, I meet a Drow elf, and one of the first Knights of Paludra gives me his pendant. I don't understand any of it."

"That my friend can all be chalked up to fate. It is how the world moves, how events all line up. The old king was corrupt and his death clears the way for someone better. It is fate that you should have that armor, fate that Andromaeda came to our party, fate that we even united. Fate can be changed, and changed for the better. It's one of Peludra's teachings." She lays a hand on your shoulder. "It's confusing at first, but things will clear up in time." She seems to think on it a moment. "Maybe it is through Peludra that you will best be prepared to face your enemy."

Kendal looks back at the pendant. "Maybe... well, I guess I should just concentrate on the matters at hand for now. So, about these mages...?"

"Hold that thought...." She wandered over to Valtheran. "And what do you have on your mind?"
Keep in mind she knows nothing of Rena.

He's jolted out of his thoughts. "What'd you say?"

"You're in your own little world over here. What's on your mind?" Her silvery eyes glint softly.

"Well, you remember the night just before the king died and I'd vanished?"

"I remember the king dying but I don't remember you vanishing. Someone steal you away?"

"Pretty much. You're probably not going to believe where I was stolen off to."

"Oh, bating me with suspense? Where?"
